Mayo Clinic is seeking a Cardiac Monitoring and Interpreting Technician in Rochester, MN. This .6 FTE role focuses on surveillance, analysis and preliminary interpretation of heart rhythms and physiological parameters, at rest or during activity, with direct patient care across varied populations.

Responsibilities include device knowledge, calibration, troubleshooting, patient preparation, and accurate data recording in multiple systems. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 1 year healthcare experience or
• High school diploma/GED with 2 years customer service experience or
• High school diploma/GED with CCT/CRAT graduate of certified ECG program or
• Bachelor’s degree is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Surveillance, analysis, synthesis and preliminary interpretation of patients' heart rhythm patterns and physiological parameters at rest, during exercise or in response to medication or other procedures.
• Provide direct patient care for a variety of patient populations.
• Operate, calibrate and troubleshoot monitoring devices and systems.
• Prepare patients and equipment for testing or monitoring; assess appropriate testing/monitoring needs.
• Provide patient education on procedures and record physiological data and interpretations in reporting systems.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team and communicate abnormal or critical responses and activate medical emergency plans.

Bachelor’s degree
