Job summary

Montefiore is seeking a dedicated Patient Care Technician to support adult and geriatric patients under RN supervision. You will provide direct and indirect care, monitor cardiac rhythms, and ensure a safe, clean environment on the unit.

Responsibilities include collecting data, assisting with treatments, and coordinating with families and staff. Requirements include a state-approved nursing assistant certificate or 2 years direct care experience, PCT training, BLS, and ability to operate

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• PCT training program, competency based orientation and BLS.
• Graduate of state approved nursing assistant certificate program or 2 years direct care experience.
• Ability to use patient care equipment (BP cuff, scales, pulse oximeter, telemetry).
• Ability to perform phlebotomy, EKG and bedside glucose monitoring.
• Ability to operate pneumatic tube system.
• Ability to use Dietary Food Delivery system.
• English language reading, writing and speaking.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care supporting rights and dignity; aids comfort.
• Meets hygiene and grooming needs; assists with nutrition and fluids.
• Maintains a safe environment and supports pulmonary care and monitoring.
• Provides and maintains skin integrity and assists elimination needs.
• Collects patient data via observation and measurements.
• Obtains specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Performs technical skills per scope and competency process.
• Participates in implementing the treatment plan with staff and family.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff.
• Assists with transportation and unit housekeeping activities.
