Halifax Health in Daytona Beach is seeking a Unit Clerk/Monitor Technician responsible for clerical tasks, patient charting, and monitoring telemetry.

You will enter orders, maintain equipment, respond to alarms, and collaborate with nursing and biomedical staff. Requires ECG exam, HS diploma, and good communication.

This role supports patient care on the unit and helps ensure accurate records and timely information.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Successful completion of Basic ECG Recognition Exam for Unit Clerks.
• Medical terminology knowledge; unit secretary certification preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn hospital systems.
• Effective communication with unit staff and other departments.

Responsabilités

• Enter physician orders into the hospital computer accurately and efficiently.
• Prioritize unit needs and monitor patient alarms.
• Assemble and maintain patient charts with correct patient labels.
• Order unit supplies and chart forms.
• Greet patients, visitors, physicians, and staff courteously.
• Monitor patients on telemetry and ensure alarms are active and reviewed.
• Respond to monitor alarms and notify RN or supervisor as needed.
• Collaborate with Biomedical Department on equipment maintenance.
• Demonstrate teamwork and professional development.
