Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Monitoring Technician to provide ongoing surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and to alert RNs and clinicians to rhythm changes. You will review patient data to determine patterns and variances while working cooperatively as part of a dedicated team.

This role trains as a monitor technician and also serves as a support/runner, including running boxes to units. Education includes a high school diploma or GED, and monitor tech competency requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Monitor tech course completion or 85% on competency exam.
• Excellent communication and ability to multi-task under pressure.
• Basic computer skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Continuously surveil patient cardiac monitors and notify RNs/clinicians of rhythm changes.
• Review patient data to assess normal and variance patterns and act promptly.
• Support/runner role, including running boxes to different units.
• Adhere to Mercy mission, values, and service standards.
