Job summary

UC Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN-CNI) for the Cardiovascular Med Surg Department at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The RN-CNI will support a 28-bed unit, delivering high-quality, policy-based care to patients with cardiac conditions.

The role requires Ohio RN licensure, ACLS/BLS, and a team-focused, adaptable professional ready to mentor staff and contribute to professional development within this academic health system.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Licensure in the State of Ohio as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
• ACLS and BLS (may receive after hire).
• A strategic, adaptable, growth-oriented, and team-focused personality.

Responsibilities

• Provide care using nursing knowledge to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Care for patients with congestive heart failure, pre bypass or valve replacement, and other cardiac cases.
• Develop and coordinate interdisciplinary plans of care with the healthcare team.
• Communicate care plans to patients, families, and staff, setting priorities based on assessments.
• Give clear treatment instructions and involve families in care decisions.
• Address behavioral health or cultural needs affecting patient care.
• Demonstrate critical thinking, accountability, and teamwork on the unit.
• Document nursing care and outcomes per policy and standards.
• Mentor new staff and support float/supplemental personnel.
• Pursue ongoing professional development and share knowledge with peers.
