Job summary

UNC Health Care is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Sonographer to staff across Clayton and Smithfield locations. The role emphasizes leadership, Epic SuperUser responsibilities, and coordination of daily schedules to maintain high-quality cardiology imaging services.

The position involves monitor­ing workflow, adjusting staffing, and ensuring compliance with accreditation and data integrity. You will collaborate with physicians and IT teams to optimize results and patient care.

Qualifications

• Certified cardiovascular sonographer with current credentials.
• Experience with EPIC and Synapse preferred.
• Ability to coordinate staff and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate staffing to ensure 60% scanning and 40% office duties as workload allows.
• Monitor workflow and adjust teammate assignments for Cardiology to maintain service levels.
• Lead departmental meetings and act as liaison with Epic, Synapse, and IT to ensure data accuracy and efficient operations.
• Ensure compliance with TJC standards and maintain equipment readiness; oversee scheduling and education records.
• Support department director in budget planning and process improvement, and provide coverage as needed.
