Job description

As the home of the world's first transvenous pacemaker system, Montefiore remains at the forefront of Cardiovascular Medicine. The Cardiology Division has received significant research funding to study the genetics of heart disease, the molecular biology of cardiac muscle, the causes of heart failure, and innovative techniques for pacing and ablation. We have one of the most active heart failure cardiac transplant programs in the US and are leaders in complex arrhythmia management and structural heart disease. We continuously seek minimally invasive solutions for complex conditions to ensure quick recovery. Through our procedures and treatments, the Heart and Vascular Center pushes the boundaries of research and redefines cardiology. We serve a vibrant, ethnically diverse community in the Bronx, extending to Westchester County, Rockland County, and Upper Manhattan.

Led by Dr. Mario J. Garcia, MD, the Division of Cardiology seeks a Board Certified Cardiologist with advanced training in Cardiac Imaging to join our team. The candidate should have excellent clinical skills and proficiency in Echocardiography. Experience in Cardiac CT, CMR, and/or Nuclear Cardiology is desirable but not required. The division is involved in translational and population research, including several clinical trials related to Cardiac Imaging. A strong interest in clinical and/or translational research and teaching is preferred.
