The Brigham and Women's Hospital, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Nurse Director for the Cardiac Surgery Intensive Care Unit on its Boston Main Campus.

This full-time role (40 hours weekly) supports the nurse director in leading clinical practice, developing staff, and ensuring patient- and family-centered care in a high-acuity ICU environment. The AND collaborates with an inter-professional team, oversees staffing, quality initiatives, and performance improvement.

Competenze

Current registration in nursing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Bachelor’s of Nursing degree required.
MSN, DNP, PhD, or Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
Current certification required or to be attained within two-year period from date of hire; certification must be maintained while employed in this position.
Five (5) years nursing experience required.
Cardiac Surgery, Ventricular Assist Device and Mechanical Support Device experience is required.
Nursing leadership experience, 2-3 years, preferred.

Participates in daily huddles/rounds with clinical staff for clinical consultation, coaching, and problem solving.
Manages day-to-day staffing based on unit guidelines and allocates staff and resources as needed.
Provides guidance to clinical staff on patient assignments with continuity of care and development of staff.
Participates in scheduling and approving requests from clinical staff under the nurse director.
Involves investigation and corrective action under the nurse director’s direction including performance improvement plans.
Contributes to quality and performance improvement initiatives using data, Lean, and PDSA methodologies.
