Job summary

Northwell Health’s South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore seeks a full-time Cardiovascular ICU intensivist to join a brand-new 18-bed CTICU with 4 step-down beds. The role focuses on post-operative care for complex cardiothoracic patients and high-risk cardiac cases.

The candidate should be fellowship trained and board-certified in Critical Care or Thoracic Surgery, with a commitment to teamwork, excellence, and innovation in patient care.

Qualifications

• Fellowship training in CTICU or related sub-specialty.
• Board Certification in Critical Care or Thoracic Surgery; other primary boards may be considered based on CTICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Care for postoperative cardiothoracic patients in the CTICU and Stepdown units.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and respiratory therapists to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.
• participate in teaching, rounds, and program development to improve patient outcomes.
