TheCardiovascular and Thoracic SurgeryService line at the Northwell Health’s South Shore University Hospital is seeking an experiencedFull-time Intensivistto join our team in the Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).

South Shore University Hospital is the eastern most Long Island tertiary hospital for Northwell Health. Located 30 miles east of NYC on the south shore of Long Island. This 415-bed hospital is rapidly growing in size and scope with focus on emerging technologies in the Cardiothoracic and Cardiology spaces. The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery Intensive Care Unit is a brand new 18-bed ICU unit with an additional 4 Stepdown beds primary dedicated to managing pre and postoperative cardiothoracic patients, complex STEMI/NSTEMI and advanced Heart Failure. The Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery service line performs over 700 cardiac related surgeries per year from open and robotic procedures, transcatheter based therapies, ECMO, and LV support for high-risk PCI.

Candidates must be fellowship trained, and Board Certified in Critical Care or Thoracic Surgery. Primary board certifications can include Internal Medicine, Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, or General Surgery. Candidates graduating from their sub-specialty training will also be considered depending upon CTICU experience during fellowship training. The ideal candidate should also carry exceptional inter-personal skills with a goal of sharing a vision of unparalleled delivery of care through teamwork, collaboration, innovation, and persistence for excellence.
