Job summary

Cleveland Clinic's Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute is seeking a caregiver to join the CVICU, a 12-bed unit delivering specialized postoperative cardiac and thoracic care to patients. This role supports welcoming admissions, rounds, documentation, and resource guidance for patients and families.

The position works nights, 7:00pm—7:30am, with responsibilities spanning patient greeting, admissions, discharges, records, and equipment troubleshooting, with a competitive hourly pay range.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• One year of experience in a customer service-related role.
• Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework.
• College degree is preferred.
• Microsoft Office experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients.
• Respond to patient call lights and make rounds.
• Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Assist patients and families with wayfinding and direct them to available resources.
• Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care.
• Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices.
