Job summary

ICC Healthcare is seeking a critical care intensivist to join the team at HCA Houston Healthcare Medical Center in Houston, Texas. The role emphasizes cardiac and CVICU patient care with a 12-hour shift model and a team-based staffing approach.

The position offers opportunities for bedside teaching and collaboration with PCCM and Surgical Trauma Critical Care Fellowships, with eligibility for TX licensure and a path to professional growth.

Qualifications

• Board-certified/board-eligible in Critical Care (all Critical Care specialties considered)
• Ability to obtain TX licensure
• 15 shifts per month (12-hour), mix of days and 5–6 nights per month
• Staffing model: 2 physicians during day, 1 physician + 1 APP at night
• At least 2 years intensivist experience preferred
• Strong interest/ exposure to MCS, CVICU, Cardiac ICU
• 34 ICU beds – CLOSED ICU – primarily Cardiac/CVICU and some Medical ICU
• Clinical bedside teaching opportunities to support PCCM and Surgical Trauma Critical Care Fellowships
• Open to new fellows with strong Cardiac exposure/experience

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care coverage in ICU (Cardiac/CVICU)
• Collaborate with Cardiac Team for co-management of patients
• Participate in bedside teaching and fellow supervision
• Support privileging, enrollment, and billing processes
• Contribute to staffing model optimization
• Deliver high-quality patient care in a high-volume center
