Job summary

Brown University Health seeks an Exercise Physiologist to perform comprehensive evaluations, patient assessments and drive care plans under the Nurse Manager. The role requires ACSM/AACVPR guidelines familiarity and ACSM-based stress testing procedures in a healthcare setting.

The incumbent will educate patients, document findings, and coordinate with physicians. Prolonged patient contact in an acute care/hospital environment is expected, with day-shift hours in Providence, RI.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology or health-related field.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Knowledge of exercise physiology and exercise prescription. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required; may obtain within six months of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive evaluation and physical assessment of new patients, obtains patient history and diagnostic data.
• Performs clinical activities such as taking vital signs, administering EKGs, initiating IVs, and educating patients about health plans.
• Educates patients about health conditions and treatment plans, including medications and tests.
• Documents in the medical record and updates care plans as appropriate.
• Takes exercise vital signs, assists with telemetry, and maintains equipment and room readiness.
