Job summary

Westchester Medical Center Health Network is seeking an EKG Technician to perform and analyze cardiovascular tests such as EKGs, Holter, and stress tests. The role includes educating patients, ensuring proper electrode placement, and recording data for physician review.

The candidate will support cardiologists in analyzing results, maintain testing equipment, and adhere to infection-control policies. A credentialed program completion and licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a credentialed technician educational program.
• 2–3 years prior experience preferred.
• Maintains licensure/certifications and other required credentials.
• Must score 80% or higher on the EKG technician certification exam.
• Must follow universal precautions and infection-control policies.
• Has the physical strength to transport equipment and patients.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology; familiarity with health care field.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients on the function and process of the EKG exam prior to the test.
• Attaches EKG electrodes to patients and monitors heart activity.
• Adjusts EKG machines to individual patients.
• Administers stress tests to monitor heart activity.
• Administers Holter tests for 24 hours or longer.
• Logs and reviews test data for physicians.
