Job summary

Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. is seeking an Echocardiography Diagnostic Technologist to perform comprehensive echocardiographic exams and assist cardiology staff in achieving high-quality studies.

The role includes 2D, M-mode, Doppler, and transesophageal echocardiography, with emphasis on patient care, safety, and accurate documentation in the EHR. On-site work with regular daytime hours, no weekends or on-call in some shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and completion of a two-year echocardiography training program accredited by CAAHEP or cardiovascular technology program accredited by CAAHEP.
• ARDMS or CCI certification required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Explains the nature of test to patient and escorts to examination room.
• Performs echocardiograms – 2D, M-mode, color Doppler according to department policy.
• Performs trans-esophageal echocardiograms (TEE) on non-operative/intra-operative basis.
• Performs dobutamine stress echocardiograms (DSE), Stress Echocardiograms according to department policy.
• Logs all pertinent patient/test data to ensure accurate billing/records.
• Monitors performance/repair of clinical equipment to ensure quality and safety.
• Maintains images in the EHR.
• Cleans/disinfects/sterilizes clinical equipment to ensure safety.
• Participates in on call as per department policy.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
