Job summary

ChenMed is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in New Orleans. The role entails performing diagnostic ultrasonography, including echocardiography, vascular and general ultrasound, with patient communication and accurate reporting.

Candidates must be a graduate in Ultrasound Technology, hold BLS certification, and be eligible for RDCS/RCS credentials for cardiac imaging. Travel up to 40% may be required as ChenMed supports multiple office locations.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school in Ultrasound Technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field preferred.
• RDCS or RCS certification required to perform Echo cardiograms.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within first 90 days of employment.
• Willingness to travel locally and/or regionally up to 40% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic ultrasound procedures using prescribed methods and proper techniques.
• Generates diagnostic imaging including 2D, spectral and color Doppler; Echocardiography/Vascular/General Ultrasound.
• Selects transducers and adjusts equipment to meet testing needs.
• Explains procedures to patients and addresses concerns.
• Enters data and patient information; maintains test records and reports.
• Assists physicians with ultrasound-guided biopsies and procedures.
• Maintains equipment per manufacturer requirements and industry standards.
• Travels to different office locations as needed.
• Follows safety protocols and SOPs for ultrasound best practices.
