Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiography procedures including M-mode, 2D, Doppler, 3D echo, and stress tests. The role supports efficient patient flow and adheres to department protocols under supervision of the Cardiac Graphics team.

The position requires active credential as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer. One expects CPR certifications and a health sciences background; two years of prior echo experience

Qualifications

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer is required.
• Minimum of two years performing Echocardiography exams preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learns and applies echocardiography techniques to competently perform procedures.
• Ensures procedures occur within designated time frames to maintain the daily schedule.
• Coordinates communication between referring physicians, staff, and departments to facilitate patient flow and operations.
• Gains knowledge of lab protocols and measures heart chamber size, wall thickness, and Doppler/3D echo methods.
