Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform a wide range of echocardiography procedures for adult, geriatric and neonatal patients. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, accurate imaging, and collaboration with clinicians.

The candidate should have an Associate Degree or Cardiac Sonography certificate, at least 1 year of echocardiography experience, and obtain registry within six months. BLS certification is required and EMR/Echo PACS proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or Cardiac Sonography certificate is required.
• 1 year echocardiography experience or equivalent is required.
• Cardiac Sonographer registry (ARDMS or CCI) required within six months of employment.
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs transthoracic echocardiograms (2D, 3D, M mode, Doppler, Color Flow, Strain).
• Performs stress echocardiograms and contrast-enhanced echocardiograms as applicable.
• Assists with transesophageal echocardiograms depending on facility.
• Performs patient assessment and quality control.
• Maintains equipment cleaning and maintenance.
• Provides education to patient, family, staff and physicians.
