Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for South Hospital in Shepherdsville, KY. The role supports adult, geriatric, neonatal, and adolescent echo evaluations, performing 2D/3D, Doppler, Color Flow, and strain analyses.

The technologist presents a courteous attitude to patients and staff while contributing to department objectives. Essential duties include transthoracic and stress echocardiograms, contrast imaging, transesophageal echo when needed, EKGs, Holter monitoring, quality control,

Qualifications

• Associate degree or certificate in cardiac sonography or allied health is required.
• Experience in echocardiography is expected or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Performs transthoracic echocardiograms (2D, 3D, M-Mode, Doppler, Color Flow, Strain).
• Performs stress echocardiograms and contrast-enhanced studies.
• Assists with transesophageal echocardiograms when needed.
• Performs patient assessments and quality control.
• Begins and monitors ECGs; places Holter monitors.
• Maintains equipment cleaning and calibration; educates patients and staff.
