Job summary

Saint Michael's Medical Center in Newark is seeking a Per Diem Echocardiography Technician to support cardiac imaging services. The role involves ultrasound visualization of cardiac structures, assisting with TEE, and contributing to Cardiopulmonary Department operations.

The position requires completion of an Echocardiogram program, BCLS certification, ARDMS/CCI within 90 days, and experience with echocardiograms across age groups. Strong computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion of Echocardiogram program within 90 days of hire or equivalent training required.
• Current BCLS certificate upon hire and maintain current required.
• Able to assist physician with TEE testing required.
• Previous experience in performing Echocardiograms of all ages preferred.
• Hospital experience in the Cardiology field preferred.
• ARDMS or CCI required within 90 days of hire.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Uses ultrasound to visualize internal cardiac structures, obtain measurements of cardiac valves, ventricle and left atrium and visualize blood flow.
• Assists the physician with complex ultrasound procedures.
• Promotes the smooth and efficient operation of the Cardiopulmonary Department through the appropriate utilization and management of all clerical functions within the department.
