Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida is seeking a Diagnostic/Ultrasound Sonographer to perform echocardiography and vascular studies with high-quality imaging. The role requires operating ultrasound equipment, documenting findings, and collaboration with physicians.

Candidates should hold RDCS/RVT/RCS/RVS or equivalent credentials and BLS; pediatric echocardiography skills are a plus. This position offers day shifts and full-time hours in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• RDCS/RVT/RCS/RVS certification is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Experience in echocardiography and vascular ultrasound preferred.
• Must read/write/speak English.
• Proficiency in pediatric echocardiography preferred.
• Knowledge of image interpretation and measurement packages.
• Ability to operate ultrasound systems and explain procedures to patients.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex studies and assists with imaging procedures.
• Obtains high-quality scans tailored to patient body habitus.
• Adapts procedures based on patient information for accurate interpretation.
• Enters testing data and patient demographics into records.
• Communicates abnormal findings to reading physicians.
• Performs scheduling, insurance verification, authorization, coding, and billing tasks.
• Sets up and adjusts imaging equipment and handles transducers.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly department and storage areas.
• Maintains supply inventory and restocks as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
