Qualifications

• Must have ARRT(S), ARDMS certifications or ARDMS Registry Eligible.

• Ability to relate to the public in a professional and courteous manner.
• Familiarity with and ability to use specialized ultrasound equipment.
• Ability to respond to emergency situations calmly.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiography procedures in accordance with approved practices and regulatory requirements.
• Assist cardiologist with Echo Stress Test.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer questions.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
• Document and maintain department records; complete exam reports.
• Conduct quality control testing and ensure equipment readiness.
• Assist in transporting patients and prepping rooms.
• Provide orientation and training to new sonographers as directed.
• Release patients with follow-up information and coordinate with radiologists as needed.
• Maintain a clean, stocked exam area and ensure readiness prior to patient arrival.
