Job summary

Jupiter Medical Center in Palm Beach County seeks an Echocardiographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound evaluations of the heart using M-Mode and 2-D imaging, including Doppler techniques. Under supervision, you will operate equipment, prep for stress tests and TEEs, and ensure accurate documentation.

Required RDCS or RCS certification; HS degree with preferred allied credential; BLS from AHA. One year of clinical echocardiography experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• RDCS or RCS certification is required or preferred.
• BLS Health Care Provider certification from American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Scans patients in all aspects of cardiac scanning including M-Mode, 2-D, color, Doppler, exercise testing and TEE.
• Prep for cardiac stress tests, Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), contrast studies, and bubble studies.
• Inform interpreting physician of abnormal findings or hemodynamic changes.
• Enter patient demographics, verify orders, perform echo study based on history.
• Maintain echo department paperwork and equipment; train others on CPACS System.
• Assist in scheduling patients and interviews to obtain exam information.
• Interpret findings for preliminary reporting.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred

Completion of a cardiac sonographer or echocardiography certificate program
