Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a skilled Cardiac Echo Technician to join the lab team. You will perform 2-D, M-mode, color flow mapping, and Doppler echocardiography in adult and pediatric patients, ensuring accurate documentation and charging as required.

The role requires knowledge of cardiac anatomy, pathology, and adherence to safety goals. Expect a varied schedule, with on-call as needed and potential weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Medical Sonography-Cardiac (RDCS or RCS) required.
• BLS Certification required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently perform all cardiac ultrasound and echo procedures per department protocol.
• Submit technologist reports to MDs with all required elements.
• Explain procedures clearly to patients and families; obtain informed consent as needed.
• Prioritize workload to address urgent cases promptly and accurately.
• Identify and report conditions impacting test quality or patient safety.
• Verify orders and ensure correct procedure and MD assignment for readings.
• Input data accurately for charges and maintain patient charge records and IAC documentation.
