Job summary

Nicklaushealth is seeking an echocardiography technologist to perform all aspects of echocardiographic studies using ultrasonic equipment, triage examinations, orient and prepare patients, and provide preliminary interpretation to attending physicians. The role maintains echo equipment and the laboratory, and documents procedures per standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to learn appropriate software applications.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, organizes data, performs calculations appropriate to study, and presents to physicians.
• Using 3D image technology, reconstructs 3D images for Maternal/Fetal program patients and follows protocols.
• Collaborates with team and performs strains for electrophysiology.
• Performs transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE), cardiac TEE, epicardial and intracardiac scans (ICE) per departmental protocol.
• Precepts new sonographers and fellows; provides technical feedback and coaching.
• Gathers patient history and documents in the EHR; reviews charts for echo indications.
