Job summary

SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an hourly/per diem Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Tech. The role performs echocardiography with 2-D/3D Doppler and color flow studies for adult, adolescent, and pediatric patients, including Stress Echocardiography.

The candidate will also assist in cardiac non-invasive procedures, orient fellows and students, maintain equipment, and handle on-call duties while supporting research activities within the Cardiology Fellowship

Qualifications

ARDMS or RCS Sonographer or Echo Tech Certification.
BS in technical specialty preferred.
CPT credential preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in the performance of cardiac non-invasive procedure-related activities.
Perform echocardiography with 2-D/3D Doppler and color flow studies on adult, late adolescent, and pediatric patients.
Perform Stress Echocardiography on adolescent and adult patients.
Prepare echocardiogram for diagnostic interpretation and preliminary impressions.
Input accurate patient demographic information and register patients in computer systems.
Maintain inventory, clinical supplies, and cleanliness of the echocardiography laboratory equipment.
Maintain accurate daily patient logs for statistical reports.
Participate in research studies coordinated for the Cardiology Fellowship Program.
