Job summary

Prime Healthcare St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee, IL seeks an Echocardiography technician for the Cardiology department. The role involves per diem scheduling and day shifts, using ultrasound to image cardiac structures and assist physicians with procedures.

The candidate should have a high school diploma and relevant certifications; ARDMS/CCI credentials preferred, with BCLS required on hire and TEE support experience a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of Echocardiogram program certification preferred.
• EKG rhythm analysis / interpretation certificate or equivalent preferred.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certificate on hire and maintained.
• ARDMS or CCI credential required; TEE testing experience preferred.
• Previous experience performing Echocardiograms of all ages preferred.
• Hospital cardiology experience preferred; registered echocardiographer preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses ultrasound to visualize cardiac structures and obtain valve, ventricle and left atrium measurements.
• Assists physician with complex echocardiography procedures.
• Supports department operations and clerical functions for documents, information gathering and distribution.
