Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking an experienced cardiovascular imaging specialist in Rome, GA to perform echocardiography and vascular ultrasound with high-quality imaging. You will adapt procedures to patient conditions, document results, and coordinate scheduling and billing while maintaining clear communication with physicians and patients.

Requirements include an Associate's degree (preferred), RDCS/RVT/RCS/RVS credentials and BLS.

Qualifications

• Must perform full range of diagnostic echocardiogram and/or vascular ultrasound procedures.
• Must operate ultrasound systems and use measurement tools to assess anatomy and function.
• Must recognize anatomical structures, artifacts and pathology.
• Ability to explain procedures to patients clearly.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and complex imaging studies and ensures highest quality scans.
• Adapts procedures based on patient condition and information.
• Enters test results and demographics into records.
• Notifies physicians of abnormal findings and procedure details.
• Performs scheduling, insurance verification, authorization, coding, billing and reimbursement.

Job Description:

• Performs routine and complex studies, in addition to assisting with a variety of imaging procedures. Consistently obtains the highest quality scans possible in relation to patient body habitus.
• Adapts procedure to each patient’s medical situation obtaining all available necessary information for proper interpretation.
• Enters testing conditions, observations, test results, and patient demographic information into patient records.
• Communicates abnormal findings to the reading physicians and notifies the physicians of procedures to be interpreted.
• Performs scheduling, insurance verification, authorization, coding, billing, and reimbursement activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must be able to perform a full range of diagnostic echocardiogram and/or vascular ultrasound procedures.
• Must be able to operate all ultrasound systems in the assigned department and utilize the measurement package for measuring and calculating to determine anatomy, function, and status according to standard of care.
• Must be able to recognize significant anatomical structures, artifacts, pathology.
• Ability to effectively communicate and explain procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner.
• Basic EKG Knowledge.
