Job summary

1103 Team Member Services in the United States is seeking a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer to perform echocardiograms and vascular ultrasound studies in a busy imaging department. The role requires operating ultrasound systems, obtaining high-quality images, and ensuring accurate patient data is captured in the records.

You will schedule and assist with insurance verifications and coding as needed, communicate findings to physicians, and contribute to a patient-centered workflow.

Qualifications

• Must perform full range of diagnostic echocardiogram and/or vascular ultrasound procedures.
• Experience operating ultrasound systems and measuring to determine anatomy and function.
• Excellent communication to explain procedures to patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiogram and vascular ultrasound studies.
• Schedule, verify insurance, obtain authorizations and process coding and billing.
• Enter patient data into records and communicate abnormal findings to physicians.

Job Description:

Performs routine and complex studies, in addition to assisting with a variety of imaging procedures. Consistently obtains the highest quality scans possible in relation to patient body habitus. Adapts procedure to each patient’s medical situation obtaining all available necessary information for proper interpretation. Enters testing conditions, observations, test results, and patient demographic information into patient records. Communicates abnormal findings to the reading physicians and notifies the physicians of procedures to be interpreted. Performs scheduling, insurance verification, authorization, coding, billing, and reimbursement activities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must be able to perform a full range of diagnostic echocardiogram and/or vascular ultrasound procedures. Must be able to operate all ultrasound systems in the assigned department and utilize the measurement package for measuring and calculating to determine anatomy, function, and status according to standard of care. Must be able to recognize significant anatomical structures, artifacts, pathology. Ability to effectively communicate and explain procedures to patients in a clear and concise manner. Basic EKG Knowledge.

Pay Range:

$30.45 - $56.64
