Job summary

Mercy Hospital Springfield is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to perform advanced ultrasound imaging and support physicians in diagnosing cardiovascular conditions. The role emphasizes patient care, technical excellence, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

The position is full-time with day shifts. Candidates may be graduates or recent entrants to the field, with required ARDMS/CCI certification or registry eligibility and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Sonography program with required clinical training.
• On-the-job training under a registered Cardiac Ultrasound Preceptor is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Perform adult echocardiography procedures and obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
• Select imaging techniques and evaluate image quality before physician interpretation.
• Prepare, position, and assist patients while providing compassionate care and education.
• Review imaging orders and document patient information, procedures, contrast administration, and responses.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after exams with proper safety and transfer methods.
• Maintain imaging records within PACS.
• Perform routine equipment cleaning, maintenance, and safety checks.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members to deliver outcomes.
