Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a Full-Time Cardiac Sonographer to perform diagnostic echocardiography and support teaching for students and Fellows in the Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Lab. The role includes five 8-hour day/evening shifts, on-call rotation, and occasional Wilmington Newark coverage.

Qualified candidates will be a graduate of a medical diagnostic ultrasound program, be registry-eligible with RDCS/RCS within one year, and hold CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical diagnostic ultrasound program or equivalent training.
• Registry-eligible and must sit for registry and become RDCS/RCS within first year of employment or eligibility.
• Pass the registry exam from ARDMS (RDCS) or CCI (RCS).
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs cardiac ultrasound procedures.
• Documents patient history and technologist impressions.
• Assists cardiologist with imaging during transesophageal echocardiography.
• Instructs cardiac ultrasound students and Cardiology Fellows.
• Rotates on on-call schedule during off hours and weekends.
• Performs pediatric echocardiography if experienced.
• Care for patients across pediatric to geriatric age groups.
