Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Marlborough, MA is seeking an Echo Cardiac Sonographer to support the Cardiovascular Imaging program. The role reports to the Senior Ultrasonographer and performs echocardiography studies and related tasks in inpatient or outpatient settings.

Scheduled hours include 7:30am-4pm or 8am-4:30pm with day shift; on-call coverage is required. A graduate of an accredited program and ARDMS registration within one year are essential, with strong patient-care and communication

Qualifications

Graduate of accredited program in Ultrasonography, Radiological Technology or Cardiac Sonography.
Minimum one year diagnostic echocardiology experience.
ARDMS registered in one category within one year of hire date.
Ability to provide quality patient care with minimal supervision.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform echocardiology exams including Transesophageal technique in inpatient or outpatient settings.
Gather pertinent clinical data and maintain patient records.
Transfer digitized echo studies to the Echo PACS system and manipulate data as needed.
Assist with inventory management and procurement of supplies.
Sterilize and cleanse probes according to policy; assist with scheduling and urgent requests.
Provide on-call coverage as required by the department.
