AdventHealth Orlando AHMG Cardiology team is seeking a Cardiac Device Specialist to support patient care at 1613 N Mills Ave, Orlando, FL 32803. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am–5pm.

Responsibilities include monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms, interrogating and programming implanted devices, and preparing reports for physicians. Must hold BLS and meet state requirements; remote monitoring and in-person checks are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Knowledge of cardiac rhythms and device checks; ability to interpret data.
• Detail oriented with ability to work independently and communicate effectively.

Responsabilités

• Monitors and evaluates critical cardiac rhythms and EKG analysis in-person and from remote transmissions.
• Interrogates, interprets, and re-programs implanted cardiac devices with full disclosure reports.
• Monitors remote heart failure reports for ICD/CRT devices and prepares physician reports for EMR entry.
• Evaluates remote alerts and triages information per protocol; collaborates with cardiology team.

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm

• Monitors and evaluates critical cardiac rhythms and EKG analysis in‑person and from remote transmissions based on global billing periods.
• Interrogates, interprets, and re-programs cardiac devices, providing full disclosure reports for physician approval and entry to EMR.
• Monitors heart failure reports remotely for ICD and CRT devices monthly, providing full disclosure reports to the cardiologist per notification protocol for approval and entry to EMR.
• Evaluates remote alerts daily from all device websites, retrieves and triages information, and prepares full disclosure reports for physician approval based on notification protocols.
• Determines when adequate test results have been obtained and consults supervisor when results are not adequate.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Knowledge of all programmer equipment, standard tests and procedures, and typical readings including arrhythmias and abnormalities. [Required]
• Knowledge of typical patient reactions and signs of distress including the ability to recognize, report and treat potentially lethal arrhythmias. [Required]
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology of the heart and cardiac medications. [Required]
• Must be detail oriented and able to perform all job requirements in an independent environment. [Required]
• Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. [Required]
• Fulfills patient care responsibilities by providing a variety of remote checks, in-office interrogations, and programming of implanted cardiac devices. [Required]
• Reviews abnormal device checks with the Cardiologist or Nurse Practitioner. [Required]

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

• Or course completion. [Required]

Licenses And Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) [Preferred]
• Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) [Preferred]
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) [Preferred]
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) [Preferred]
• Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) [Preferred]
• Certified EKG Technician (CET) [Preferred]
• International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) [Preferred]

Pay Range

$21.77 - $40.48
