Job summary

Bon Secours seeks an experienced CVOR Surgical Assistant for the Maryview Medical Center cardiac team. You will prepare the cardiac OR, gather supplies, and assist surgeons with exposure, suturing, and hemostasis during procedures.

Under direct supervision, you may work in Main OR when not required in cardiovascular cases. Two years OR experience and Virginia certification are preferred, with up to a $10K sign-on bonus based on experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Surgical Assistant Program required.
• BLS/CSA certification or eligibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions as the surgical assistant on cardiac surgery cases.
• Under supervision, handles tissue, exposes anatomy, uses instruments and sutures.
• Performs wound closure, knot tying, and hemostasis.
• Gowns and gloves self and others; maintain sterile field.
• Assist in applying dressings and patient safety.
