Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a Cardiac Catheterization lab required.
  • Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS may be required depending on unit needs.
  • Must have valid RCIS or CI certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic imaging and related procedures for cardiovascular interventions.
  • Demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and intervention.
  • Work collaboratively with a team across cardiovascular and multispecialty disciplines.

Position Summary:

Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention in cardiovascular procedures.

Education/Training:

One of the following criteria must be met:

  • CVT—RCIS or RCES: High school diploma or GED
  • RRT or CRT: Associate degree from an accredited respiratory therapy program
  • R.T.(R): Completion of an accredited radiography program
  • Paramedic—NREMT-P: Completion of an accredited paramedic program

Licensure/Certification:

Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS may be required depending on unit needs. Must have one of the following:

  • Valid Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Cardiovascular Intervention (CI) certification

In addition, must possess and maintain one of the following:

  • Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)—RCIS or RCVS certification
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)—licensed and certified by NBRC
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)—licensed and certified by NBRC
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist (R.T.(R))—certified by ARRT
  • Paramedic—NREMT-P certification, with valid RCIS certification

Experience:

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a Cardiac Catheterization lab required.
