Role Description

The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist is a full-time, on-site role based at Franciscan St. Francis Health in Indianapolis, IN. This role is responsible for preparing patients for cardiac catheterization procedures, setting up and operating imaging and monitoring equipment, and assisting cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional procedures. The technologist will monitor patient status, document procedure details, maintain sterile technique, and ensure proper radiation safety practices. Daily responsibilities also include equipment calibration and maintenance, participation in quality assurance activities, collaboration with the cath lab team, and clear communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff to support safe, efficient care.


Qualifications


  • Registration and certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), with current licensure as required by state regulations.

  • Strong knowledge of cardiology, including cardiac anatomy, physiology, and common cardiovascular conditions.

  • Hands-on experience in cardiac cath and cath lab procedures, including both diagnostic and interventional cases.

  • Proficiency in radiology principles, imaging equipment operation, and radiation safety protocols.

  • Graduate of an accredited radiologic technology or cardiovascular technology program.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented clinical environment, including participation in call coverage as needed.

  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and commitment to patient-centered, culturally sensitive care.
