Job summary

Progeny Human Resource Solutions is seeking a Cardiac Catheter Lab Technician for a full-time role in Port Saint Lucie, FL. The position supports physicians during cardiac cath lab procedures and related interventional work, including scrubbing and monitoring patients.

You will prepare patients, administer contrast within scope, assist with diagnostic and vascular procedures, review results, maintain equipment and records in radiology information systems, and ensure infection control standards.

Qualifications

• Certification: ARRT or RCIS, required.
• BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• Prior experience with general vascular and/or coronary angiography.
• RCIS certification required within 24 months of hire.
• Knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation and cardiac anatomy.
• Prior IR experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians during cardiac cath lab procedures, pacemaker/ICD insertions, interventional radiology and other procedures by operating the monitoring system and/or scrubbing for invasive cardiac and vascular procedures.
• Provide patient care to adult and geriatric patients.
• Prepare patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning, preparing sites and administering contrast/media within scope of practice.
• Assist physician with diagnostic and vascular interventional procedures.
• Review results and address image quality issues.
• Prepare equipment and sterile trays.
• Select appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implement safety standards and perform quality control on equipment.
• Troubleshoot, resolve, and report equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Assist with clerical duties such as documenting procedures, billing, editing and data in radiology information systems, maintaining equipment, and inventory control.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists physicians during cardiac cath lab procedures, pacemaker/ICD insertions, interventional radiology and other miscellaneous procedures by operating the physiologic/hemodynamic monitoring computer and/or scrubbing for invasive cardiac and vascular procedures.
• Provides patient care to adult and geriatric patients.
• Prepares patients for procedures by reviewing medical history, draping and positioning the patient, preparing procedural/testing sites and administering contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
• Assists physician with performing diagnostic and vascular interventional procedures.
• Reviews results and takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.
• Prepares equipment and supplies including sterile trays.
• Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
• Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
• Assists with clerical and non-technical duties necessary to department operations, such as documenting procedures into department/hospital information systems, recording billing, editing and statistical information in radiology information system, maintaining and cleaning patient care equipment per infection control standards and evaluating inventory levels to ensure par level of stock suitable for the needs of division.

Job Qualifications

• Must possess one (1) of the following required certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Prior experience with general vascular and/or coronary angiography.
• Thorough knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation and cardiac anatomy.
• Prior IR experience a plus.
• RCIS certification required within 24 months of hire.
