The ideal candidate will have Radiography Certification, relevant educational background, and the ability to integrate knowledge of procedures. Preferred qualifications include an associate degree and experience in a Cath Lab.

Qualifications

• Radiography Certification with ARRT or equivalent within one year.
• Graduate of ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology or Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist.
• ACLS Certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Integrate knowledge of cardiovascular physiology during procedures.
• Maintain expertise in radiographic imagery techniques.
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.

Job description

General Overview

This position assists in the performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiac, peripheral, and EP procedures. The successful candidate works directly with the physician, nurse, and other team members to provide safe, quality, cost‑effective, professional patient care services that achieve expected outcomes.

Essential Responsibilities

• Integrates knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques being performed, and assists accordingly. (45%)
• Maintains expertise in current radiographic imagery techniques as they relate to invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures. (15%)
• Operates laboratory equipment; troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and contacts proper support personnel. (15%)
• Assists in monitoring the effects of procedural activities by identifying adverse reactions/conditions and properly responding. (15%)
• Completes all required documentation for procedures, e.g., regulatory, billing protocols, and image storage and archival. (10%)

Qualifications

Minimum

• Radiography Certification and Registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with Cardiovascular Credentialing International required within one year.
• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology (RT–R) or Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist (RCIS)
• ACLS Certification within 6 months of hire
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate

Preferred

• Associate degree
• 1 year in a Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology or Radiology
