Job description

General Overview

This job assists the Invasive Cardiologist in the performance of diagnostic and interventional procedures; demonstrates leadership in collaboration with co‑workers to achieve efficient and cost effective functioning of the department.

Essential Responsibilities

• Integrates knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques being performed, and assists accordingly. (45%)
• Maintains expertise in current radiographic imagery techniques as they relate to invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures. (15%)
• Orients new staff on the operation of laboratory equipment, troubleshoots malfunctions, and is knowledgeable of proper support personnel and when they need to be contacted. (15%)
• Anticipates adverse reactions or conditions when monitoring the effects of procedural activities, and responds appropriately. (15%)
• Completes all required documentation for procedures e.g., regulatory, billing protocols, and image storage and archival. (10%)
• Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Qualifications

• 3 years in a cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology
• Radiography Certification and Registration with The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with Cardiovascular Credentialing International
• ACLS Certification
• Requires critical thinking, decisive and independent judgment
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
