Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks an experienced professional to assist in invasive cardiovascular procedures in the cath lab. You will collaborate with physicians and staff to perform diagnostic and interventional work while maintaining imaging quality and safety.

Required ARRT/RCIS certifications, 3+ years in cath/interventional radiology, ACLS/CPR, and strong clinical judgment are essential for success in this role at AHN's invasive cardiology lab.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology.
• Certifications: ARRT CI/CV/R or RCIS (Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) per ARRT/CVGI.
• ACLS and CPR required; background clearance as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date radiographic imaging techniques for invasive work.
• Orient and troubleshoot laboratory equipment and coordinate with staff.
• Monitor patient status and respond to adverse reactions during procedures.
• Complete documentation for regulatory, billing, and image storage.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This job assists the Invasive Cardiologist in the performance of diagnostic and interventional procedures; demonstrates leadership in collaboration with co-workers to achieve efficient and cost-effective functioning of the department.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• - Integrates knowledge of cardiovascular and peripheral vascular physiology, pathophysiology, and procedural techniques being performed, and assists accordingly. (45%)
• - Maintains expertise in current radiographic imagery techniques as they relate to invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures. (15%)
• - Orients inexperienced staff on the operation of laboratory equipment; troubleshoots malfunctions, and is knowledgeable of proper support personnel and instances when they need to be contacted. (15%)
• - Anticipates adverse reactions / conditions when monitoring the effects of all procedural activities, and responds appropriately. (15%)
• - Completes required documentation for procedures e.g. regulatory, billing protocols and image storage and archival. (10%)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

• - 3 years’ experience in a cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology.
• - Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI) -OR- Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) -OR- Radiography (R) – OR-Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) certification issued by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist with Cardiovascular Credentialing International
• - Critical thinking, decisive and independent judgment.

Preferred

• - Associate Degree.
