Job summary

Abrazo Health is seeking a skilled Cath Lab professional to perform direct and indirect cardiovascular care in the cath lab. The role supports physicians and staff during invasive procedures and STEMI cases, scrubs, monitors, and circulates as needed.

The position requires an associate degree in Radiology (or equivalent), BLS, and ACLS within 6 months, plus ARRT-CRT certification. Experience with cardiac imaging equipment is valued; on-site work is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiology or equivalent.
• Basic EKG course.
• BLS on hire and ACLS within 6 months.
• ARRT-CRT certification.

Responsibilities

• Assesses physical, psychosocial, and growth and development needs of the patient for pre, intra and post procedure assessments.
• Develops a care plan individualized to patient problems and procedure.
• Provides teaching to patient/family and staff; operates x-ray for views and prioritizes care.
• Knowledge of IABP setup and care of temporary/permanent pacemakers.
• Performs related tasks as assigned.

Job Summary

Performs direct and indirect functions in the cardiac cath Lab. Assists all physicians/staff with clinical and technical aspects of cardiovascular care. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned. Scrubs, monitors, and circulates in all invasive procedures in the Cath Lab. The department provides training on Structural Heart scrubbing. Able to function on all cardiac alerts and STEMI cases.

Responsibilities

• Assesses physical, psychosocial, and growth and development needs of the patient, completes pre, intra and post procedure assessment, informs nurse/MD of any changes in patient’s condition.
• Develops a plan of care for procedure being performed, plan of care is individualized to include specific patient problems, needs and scheduled procedure.
• Provides teaching and guidance to patient and/or family as well as staff members. Able to execute x-ray for desired views- abdominal aorta gram, runoff, division, storing and printing images, sets priorities for care of patients based on patient's needs and resources available, identifies and performs appropriately in emergency patient care solutions.
• Knowledge of set up and monitoring of IABP, assists with set-up, insertion and care of temporary and permanent pacemakers.
• Other related job tasks or responsibilities as assigned.

Special Skills

• Response Requirement: To be able to respond to emergencies within 30 minutes of alert.
• Team: Four team members for both working hours and on call teams (1 Scrub, 1 RT, 1 circulating RN, 1 Monitoring personnel)
• Equipment: The department uses Philips x-ray equipment, Acist injectors, Philips IVUS/iFR, Xper Monitoring System, and Spacetrax Inventory System.

Minimum Requirements

• Experience: 6 months in Cath Lab/Cardiac Intervention Lab.
• Education: Associate degree in Radiology or equivalent, Basic EKG course.
• Certifications: BLS. ACLS within 6 months of hire.
• Certifications: ARRT-CRT.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience: 1 year experience providing cardiac cath, radiology care.
• Education: Bachelor in Radiology or equivalent.
• Certifications: RCIS certification.
