Job summary

Nemours is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiovascular Catheterization Laboratory team in Wilmington, DE. This casual position supports pediatric patients through diagnostic and interventional cathlab procedures under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include assisting with device implantation and EP studies, interpreting waveforms, and maintaining imaging equipment. BLS/PALS are required, ACLS preferred; 3+ years' pediatrics/cath lab experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Pediatrics, Cath Lab and EP procedures.
• AHA BLS and PALS required; ACLS preferred.

• Operate sophisticated equipment and provide patient care during Cath Lab procedures.
• Assist physicians in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization and EP studies.
• Interpret hemodynamic waveforms and electrocardiographic tracings.
• Assist in device implantation procedures and surgical procedures in the Cath Lab.
• Maintain fluoroscopic and electrophysiologic equipment; support data collection for quality control.

The Cardiac Catheterization RN operates sophisticated equipment and provides patient care during Catheterization procedures. Assists the physicians in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, diagnostic and therapeutic electrophysiology studies and interpreting hemodynamic waveforms and electrocardiographic tracings. Assist cardiologists in device implantation procedures and surgeons in completion of surgical procedures in the Cath Lab. Assists in the operation and maintenance of fluoroscopic, digital image recording and electrophysiologic equipment. Assists in the development of policies and procedures. Collects data for quality control programs. Assists with inventory controls and maintenance of computer reports. Patient care is individualized to the age/developmental, psycho-social-cultural patient need.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in Pediatrics, Cath Lab and EP procedures
• An American Heart Association BLS and PALS
• ACLS preferred
