Job summary

UofL Health is seeking an experienced cardiovascular technician to support diagnostic and specific therapeutic catheterization procedures. You will work under supervision of critical care RNs and Cardiologist to provide safe patient care and accurate data throughout the cardiac catheterization process.

Responsibilities include obtaining quality imaging, pre/post-procedure teaching, vital signs monitoring, sterile technique, and room preparation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology Program is required.
• RCIS certification or acquired within 18 months of employment is required.
• 6 months work experience in Cardiac Cath lab is preferred.
• BLS is required.
• ACLS preferred or to be acquired within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Obtain top quality diagnostic images with minimal radiation exposure.
• Turn in monthly dosimetry badges for Radiation Safety reporting.
• Assist in fluoroscopy and prepare entry sites.
• Monitor vital signs, rhythm, and ECG, documenting in patient chart.
• Scrub and assist Cardiologist during procedures and maintain sterile technique.
• Prepare the room and equipment for cases, ensure proper documentation and charge sheets.
• Transport patients to and from the lab and participate in the on-call schedule.
