Job summary

Lee's Summit Medical Center is seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist to support diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiology procedures in the catheterization labs. The role requires radiographic knowledge, patient monitoring, and aseptic technique, with on-call responsibilities to ensure department operations.

The position emphasizes teamwork with physicians and nursing staff, on-call availability within 30 minutes, and adherence to standards in a high-volume cardiovascular environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist program or invasive cardiovascular technology program preferred.
• Two years of current experience in Cath lab may be substituted for completion of Radiology Technologist program or invasive cardiovascular technologist (CVT) program completion.
• Current BCLS certification required within 30 days of start date and maintained.
• ACLS certification required within 6 months of employment.
• Active RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or RT licensure preferred.
• If a new invasive CVT graduate, must attain credential within 1 year of eligibility date.
• One year of experience in Cath lab, or equivalent clinical experience as part of educational program.
• OJT with current 10 years or more of experience may be substituted for completion of Radiology Technologist program, Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program and RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist).

Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiology procedures in catheterization labs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of radiographic imaging, patient physiologic monitoring, and cardiac arrhythmias recognition.
• Complies with sterile technique principles.
• Collect data for database, outcome analysis and performance improvement.
• Carry out any other activities assigned to ensure the department runs effectively and efficiently.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and respond within 30 minutes to the Cath Lab.

Job Summary and Qualifications

CathLabTechnicians areCardiovascularTechnologists who work in our facilities and run tests on heart health. Theyassistwith the insertion of catheters into the heartandare responsible formeasuring and administering special fluids.

Schedule:Monday-Friday, 0700-1530. Call required, 12 call shifts/month (includes weekend shifts and holidays)

What you will do in this role:

• Under the general supervision of the Cath Lab Supervisor and the CV Services Director, the Cardiac CathLab Technologist, in cooperation with the physicians and nursing personnel,assistswith diagnostic and therapeutic invasive cardiology patient procedures in the catheterization labs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of radiographic imaging, patient physiologicmonitoringand cardiac arrhythmias recognition.
• Complies withprinciples of sterile technique.
