Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist (PRN) to join its Cypress, TX team. You will assist physicians during lifesaving cardiac procedures, prepare patients, and operate advanced cath lab equipment to deliver high-quality care.

This role requires ARRT or RCIS credentials, BCLS, and ACLS within 6 months, with responsibilities spanning patient support and sterile procedural control.

Qualifications

• ARRT and Radiology Technologist credentialing as required by state health department.
• RCIS credential, with or without ARRT, under supervision where applicable.
• Current BCLS certification is required.
• ACLS certification must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Demonstrated ongoing clinical competence via orientation and annual skills checks.
• Ability to perform EKG assessments or complete an EKG course.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with complex cardiac and vascular procedures (angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements).
• Prepare and support patients and families before, during, and after procedures.
• Operate and maintain cath lab equipment to ensure safe treatment.
• Monitor patient responses with vigilance and compassion.
• Maintain a sterile, safe environment and advocate for every patient.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting physicians with complex cardiac and vascular procedures, including angiograms, angioplasties, and stent placements
• Preparing and supporting patients and families with care, education, and reassurance before, during, and after procedures
• Operating and maintaining advanced equipment to deliver safe and effective treatment
• Monitoring patient responses with vigilance and compassion to ensure the highest level of care
• Safeguarding a sterile, safe environment while serving as an advocate for every patient

What qualifications you will need: Cath Lab Experience Required

• ARRT and Radiology Technologist – Texas Department of Health or
• RCIS
• RCIS staff members who do not hold an ARRT certification:

1. Must be under the direct supervision of a licensed practitioner credentialed for invasive procedures (e.g., Cardiologist, Radiologist, or Vascular Surgeon); and
2. Must comply with all applicable state laws, rules, and regulations governing the performance of radiologic procedures.

• Current BCLS certification required.
• Demonstrated current clinical competence, as outlined in the appropriate orientation checklist
• Maintains competency on a consistent basis (i.e. Annual Skills Checklist)
• Challenges EKG test, or takes EKG course.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of employment
• Thorough technical knowledge

Able to deal with stressful situations and to stand for long periods of time
