Job summary

The Cardiac Cath Lab Tech at Nash UNC Health Care performs advanced diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab. Techs scrub, monitor, and assist providers, handling data collection and ensuring equipment readiness.

They respond to patient distress, participate in life‑saving measures, and support on‑call shifts while maintaining safety and inventory for smooth lab operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program or accredited CVT Program.
• ACLS within 6 months of hire; BLS certification.
• RCIS must be acquired within 2 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transporting patients to nursing units.
• Attend to patient needs during cardiac lab procedures.
• Circulates during procedure and assists the physician as needed.
• Obtain and record hemodynamic, electrical, and angiographic data with lab equipment.
• Participate in life-saving measures including defibrillation and CPR.
• Participate in on-call per schedule, if applicable.
• Prepare patient and equipment for cardiac lab procedures and calibrate devices.
• Ensure adequate stock in Cardiac Lab procedure rooms.
• Scrub during procedures and assist with catheter maneuvering.
