Responsibilities

• Direct the flow of patients.
• Monitor the planning, delivery and outcomes of care for the area patient population.
• Collaborate with other health team members to provide coordinated, safe, and compassionate care for patients.
• Function as an expert clinical practitioner and role model for staff according to unit needs.
• Work closely with cardiologists in the performance of invasive procedures and patient outcomes.
• Support the cardiologists, manager, nurse coordinator and unit staff in the performance of invasive procedures.
• Assist during procedures to ensure fast and efficient delivery of care to patients.
• Delegate and adjust care for patient populations based on acuity and available staff.
• Assist in the performance of invasive procedures such as scrubbing, equipment utilization and hemodynamic computation.
• Document patient status, tests performed and follow-up plans.
• Participate in the operation of therapeutic and interventional equipment and in quality improvement activities.
• Participate in on-call schedule with dependability and schedule flexibility.
• Maintain own personal professional growth and development.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred. Current RN license in Illinois required. Current CPR certification; ACLS certification required for critical care and ER.
• Caring attitude, professional appearance, and willingness to increase knowledge and mentor others. Knowledge of growth and development needs of staff.
• Ability to relate well to professional and non-professional staff. High accuracy in work duties. Team-oriented with the ability to delegate appropriately.
