Job summary

Atlantic Health System in Summit, New Jersey is seeking a Cardiovascular Technician to assist during cardiac catheterization procedures and related interventions. The role includes preparing the procedure room, draping patients, and aiding the physician with stent placements, balloon angioplasties, and valve procedures.

The incumbent will monitor patient status, retrieve imaging, and record/hemodynamic data, ensuring patient comfort and safety according to departmental guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepares procedure room and scrubs/assist MD during cardiac catheterization and interventions including stent placements, balloon angioplasties, heart valve replacements, and/or EP procedures
• Prepares and drapes patients for the process, responds to their questions alleviating any concerns regarding the procedure, and ensures patient comfort.
• Enters patient, procedure and equipment details in the system.
• Monitors patient hemodynamic status during procedure, including electrocardiogram, blood pressure, chest pain.
• Retrieves imaging and other pertinent data and all necessary calculations for physician's interpretation of results.
• Balances, calibrates and records appropriate hemodynamic data as well as intervenes in cardiopulmonary emergencies.
• Operates equipment properly in a reliable manner, per departmental standards, complying with all safety guidelines/policies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
