Job summary

SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital Midwest in the United States seeks a Cardiac Cath Lab RN to plan, coordinate and implement care for adult patients in the Cath Lab, ensuring quality and safety in line with unit standards.

The role requires 1 year of nursing experience (Cath Lab/ICU/ED preferred), readiness for a 30-minute call, and active BLS HCP, RN licensure, ALS and PALS per state requirements. Day shift, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing
• Must have 1 year of nursing experience - cath lab, ICU or ED experience preferred. Must be able to respond to a 30 minute or less call time.

Responsibilities

• Performs on the Cath Lab procedure team as circulator, scrub, or monitor.
• Preps patient for the procedure and ensures history and physical (H&P) is timely.
• Administers medications and reports abnormal information to the physician promptly.
• Maintains hemostasis safely with or without vascular devices.
• Regularly informs patients and families about tests and treatments and provides education.
• Escorts families to the cardiology area or Cath lab area when necessary.
• May perform point of care testing according to policies and procedures.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safety; performs other duties as assigned.
