Operates diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast-enhanced radiographs of the heart and cardiovascular system (angiograms) during cardiac catheterization, aiding physicians in diagnostic evaluation and treatment. Responsibilities include direct and indirect patient care, quality control monitoring and reporting, and equipment maintenance. Assists with electrophysiology (EP) cases. Permitted to change patients from portable oxygen to wall oxygen.
Description
Minimum Education: Graduate of a Radiology Technology Program
Preferred Education: Cath lab training
Registration/Certification/Licensure: Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Healthcare Provider CPR
Minimum Experience: One year Radiology Technologist experience
Preferred Experience: Two years invasive/interventional radiology and/or two years in a full-service Cardiac Cath Lab
Other Requirements: Responsible for safely accessing, transporting, and handling medications (prescription and non-prescription), as well as sharps such as needles, suture kits, lancets, and syringes.
